The following guide will reference the image and diagram below for safety and operating procedures. Please ensure that you have read and are aware of each element of the printer and curing machine before use.

Wear appropriate chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile or neoprene) – DO NOT use latex gloves. Gloves should have extended cuffs if available.

Use safety glasses/goggles.

Wear a labcoat or suitable covering over personal clothes.

Safety Procedures

Potential Hazards and Injuries

  • Hair/clothing getting caught in moving machine parts.
  • Eye injuries.
  • Flying swarf and chips.
  • Sharp edges and burrs.
  • Hot metal and or fires dangers.

General Safety

In General, before making any modifications or begining any task using the drill press, while setting up and aligning items, be sure the press is OFF and the key is not engaged.

ALWAYS KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN, WELL LIT, AND CLUTTER FREE.

Keep drill bits and cutting tools sharp and clean.

Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they might get drawn in by the tool.

Tie back long hair.

DO NOT wear gloves while operating this machine!

General Operating Procedure:

Again, keep area clean when using drill press.

Please refer to the bellow manual instructions for general operation:

Drill Speeds Chart

Always refer to the chart below before working on the drill press and ensure proper speed and bit size is used per material.

Assembly/Adjustments

Please ensure drill press is off, key is not engaged, and unplugged before making any modifications.

You may then proceed to make adjustments following the guide shown in the instruction manual linked above.

Cleaning/Maintenance

Please refer to the following document for proper cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of the drill press.

Do not use or clean drill press in any other forms other than refered to and outlined below.

Hazards

Fire:

Although it is unlikely that the Printer itslef is to catch fire, it is common that flamable materials are used to prepare and clean items within and made by the printer. Always follow all safety procedures and operate with a fire extinguisher nearby.

Please only use specified materials outlined in safety with the printer and wash and cure. Other materials may not be suitable for the safe and trusted operation of the machine.

Electrical:

The system is powered using a standard 60 Hz, 120 V wall connection which should remain plugged in and should not be unplugged during operation at any time.

Only use the provided power cable, and do not attatch to any extension cables or daisy chains.

Hazard Controls:

Wear eye protection at your own discretion, but it is reccommended such that materials don't get in your eyes.

ALWAYS wear gloves when handling resin and chemicals when cleaning parts.

Use cut proof gloves when handling sharp objects intended for trimming materials.

Store all flamable materials back in specified areas or the vented hood when not in use.

Emergency Procedures

In case of an emergency, call x5000 or 911.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND INJURIES

Potential injuries include those relavent to handling chemicals (burns, irritation, fume injestion) and should be mitigated by following safety procedures.

Other hazards include the handling of sharp objects, please use discretion and safety gloves when possible.
